June Update: MOC & All Stars INFO

SEASON UPDATE

TOPIC: Regular Season Meets 1-3. No Divisions. 

  • No dual meet team scoring Not easy to put divisions together. Too many “team switch swimmers”.
  • Can’t measure/predict strength. Don’t want anyone to get annihilated with no good way to divide. 
  • Meets must be conducted in a meet format with SJs. Starter can be stroke judge. 
    • Must follow bylaws 
      • No shopping for best time 
      • Swimmer gets ONE TRY for time, be honest. (ex: (not twice over 2 days, take best time) 
    • Follow Event Schedule with Numbers (3 events for 11Up, 2 events 10Under) 
    • No relays for Meets 1-3   
  • Submit Team Manager Results: 
      • Wednesday following Meets 1-3by 12noon.  
      • ZERO exceptions. 
      • Meter times will be converted to SHOW YARDS 
      • SHRSL will use DEFAULT (1.11) course conversion  
      • Affects CW & MW only. 
      • Entries must follow bylaws, too many results, results in ILLEGAL swimmer.  
        • 10Under – 2 events 
        • 11Up – 3 events 
      • Illegal Swimmer: Loss of ALL TIMES for  illegal swimmer, for the meet. Could result MOC eligibility issues. 
    • Competition: 
      • Meet 1 must be June 15 or 16th. Per last month’s meeting. This followTexas laws 
      • Meet 2-3. Get it in between Sat & Tuesday 
      • Same “submission” rules for Meets 1-3. 
      • AWARDS: Award with your allotted ribbons. You have extra DQ ribbons. 

 

TOPIC: Meet of Champions – Meet 4 on July 6 | Use July 7 as Weather Day

  • MOC meet file will be shared for MOC Entries & Results. Use is mandatory. 
  • Must use regular meet format with Timers, 2-4 SJStarter  
    • Suggested format: 
      • 10 Unders in AM 
      • 11 Ups in PM 
      • Awards – see below 
    • NO BLOCKS ALLOWED 
    • Sell MOC as a qualifier for All Stars this year (info below) 
    • Everyone swims all qualified events 
      • One Meet Attendance rule for 2020 
      • Must swim LEGAL event in at least one meet 
    • Awards:  
      • No MOC/League Awards due to COVID (use normal ribbons) 
      • Award all heats like Meet 1-3If short on awards
      • Consider Awarding 10U only.   
    • Relays at MOC: Teams’ choice.  
      • Teams can choose to do relays at MOC or not. 
      • All Star relay relay entries will need to be submitted post-MOC 
      • If relays at MOC, winning relay time can be entered.  
      • If no relays, add 4 times together, submit ENTRIES accordingly 
      • SUBMIT NAMES for All Star relays – Names can be changed between MOC & All Stars 
      • Suggestion: Combine relays to save time (ex: boys & girls together) 
    • Meet Manager will be used by League to move swimmers from MOC to ALL STARS. 
      • Teams will get a standard meet file to set entries for MOC – Use Required

    • RESULTS: 
      • MOC results must submitted by noon on Tuesday, July 7 to [email protected] 
      • ZERO EXCEPTIONS 

 

TOPIC: ALL STARS

  • DATE: July 10 | Site TBA
  • All Star Advancers: Individual & Relays
    • Top 16 Individuals advance from combined Meet of Champions  
      • Using ONLY Meet of Champions (July 6 times) 
      • No Call Ups
    • Relays
      • One Relay per team/per event 
      • Need relay names by July 7 at 12:00pm
      • Relays will be seeded
    • NOTE: If we get in trouble with Nat usage: Top 8 advances as the fall back  
  • Scratches needed by END OF MOC (Monday, July 6). 10:00pm. Need a LIST 
    • Ask DURING MEET OF CHAMPS for All Star scratches 
    • Ask VIA SWIMTOPIA prior to Meet of Champions about All Stars 
  • MOC Results & All Star Advancers: July 7 (MOC results due by noon on 7/7)
    • MOC: Results & Top Times will be posted on Wednesday by 3:00pm (pending good results from MOC)
    • All Stars: Will post TOP 16 + Next 4 (alternates) as ALL STAR ADVANCERS + ALTERNATES by 7:00pm on July 7
      • NOTE: Top 16 List will have first round of scratches removed
      • NOTE: Next 4 will be included so swimmers as alternates
    • FINAL All Star Advancers + 2 Alternates will be posted by 2pm on July 8
  • SPECTATORS: Seated outside doors/gates, under own management. Please socially distance from families outside of your own.
    • 2 tickets/spectators per event/swimmer allowed In viewing area during swimmers’ specific event.
      • Yes, this will take some organizing and cooperation on everyone’s part
      • Yes, this will require monitoring. NEED VOLUNTEERS.
    • Will print swimmers’ “events” to be used for viewing races: 
      • Might ask for spectators names’ prior to All Star for easy management
      • Names will be on list OR two tickets per swimmer, will be allowed
      • Still working out the details
  • Volunteers necessary to “work door/gate” – we’ll need a few volunteers here. 
    • Texas Law up to 50% for arenas at this time.
    • If something changes between now and July 10, some of these steps might be unnecessary.
  • AWARDS: 
    • Pre-packaged by award, in folders. 
    • No labels (lessens contact with awards) 
    • Pick Up Outside doors/foyer/gate. Normal pick up procedure. 
    • We will post results as fast as we can, on a wall/gate somewhere
      • Parents/Swimmers record times
      • Results will be posted on July 11 on the Website (Facebook, Twitter)
  • COACHES: 
    • One per team on deck. 
    • No exceptions. Please don’t ask.
    • Might need help in heating area.
  • TIMELINE: 
    • 10U in AM: 
    • Relays First:
      • Swim 6U Free Relay, Clear Facility 
      • Swim 10 & Under MEDLEY Relays, Clear Facility 
      • Swim 10 & Under FREE RELAYS, Clear Facility 
    • **Individual events with at least :30 min between start of next age group event
  • 11 & Up in PM:  After 2pm 
    • Relays First:
      • Swim 11 & Up MEDLEY Relays, Clear Facility 
      • Swim 11 & Up FREE RELAYS, Clear Facility 
    • **Individual events with at least :30 min between start of next age group event
  • **Normal Procedure: 30 minutes between age group events (ex: 11-12 IM to 11-12 Free will be at least 30 minutes)
  • Texas Law up to 50% for arenas at this time. Some of these steps might be unnecessary.
